The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has issued a directive to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, urging him to instruct the police personnel to promptly vacate the premises of the National Secretariat of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Abuja. This action is expected to be carried out within a span of 48 hours.
Following an emergency meeting of the National Administrative Council (NAC), the NLC released a formal statement. In this statement, the NLC called upon President Bola Tinubu to expeditiously address the allegations that have arisen concerning his connection to the individuals who have forcefully taken control of the NURTW’s secretariat. These individuals reportedly gained access to the premises with the assistance of security operatives.
