Tajudeen Baruwa, the president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has announced the union’s unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration in realizing its outlined economic policies and initiatives.
Baruwa emphasized that NURTW members are committed to collaborating closely with the president through the transportation sector to foster national economic improvement. He highlighted their dedication to addressing the concerns of Nigerians regardless of their geographical location.
The assurance was given following Baruwa’s inauguration alongside fellow executive members of the union during the 10th National Quadrennial delegate conference of NURTW held in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Baruwa underscored the union’s commitment to ensuring the safe and timely transportation of commuters and goods to their destinations, contributing to the country’s economic recovery efforts. He remarked, “The ongoing conference, having thoroughly evaluated President Tinubu’s Administration, despite its brief tenure, expresses contentment with the initial measures taken to rejuvenate the national economy for the greater welfare of the populace.”
He further stated, “Consequently, we extend our wholehearted support to the administration’s policies and initiatives, with the belief that transparent implementation will effectively alleviate the challenges faced by the masses.”
In addition, Baruwa lauded Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, for his supportive approach toward NURTW. He acknowledged the state administration’s provision of a conducive environment for the successful conduct of the conference.
Baruwa pledged that the union would continually strengthen its collaboration with the Nigerian Police Force, particularly with the Inspector General of Police. This collaboration aims to maintain law and order within parks and garages throughout the nation.
