Spurs Haven’t Made a Bid for Orban, Says Romano

Football reporter Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur, a Premier League club, has not yet submitted formal bids for Gift Orban, a striker from Nigerian club Gent, and Jonathan, a forward from Lille. These players are being considered as potential replacements for the departed Harry Kane.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, Romano stated, “While both players are being considered, there haven’t been any concrete negotiations for either of them at this point. In the case of Orban, there have been some initial discussions with the player’s representatives. Tottenham has expressed interest in him, and there have been positive talks. However, as of now, no official bid has been made.”

Orban’s market value is estimated to be between £30 million to £40 million. However, Tottenham is yet to determine the exact budget they will allocate for acquiring a new striker following Kane’s transfer, which garnered over £100 million.

Both potential targets for Spurs have showcased their prowess as goal-scorers for their respective teams in recent seasons. Orban, in particular, stands out as a clinical and menacing forward known for his impressive finishing skills. He has already netted six goals in just seven appearances for Gent during the ongoing 2023/24 season, contributing to his impressive tally of 26 goals in 29 total appearances for the club.
