In anticipation of the forthcoming 2024 gubernatorial elections in Edo State, Honorable Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma’s candidacy received a significant boost over the weekend as the Edo Renaissance Organization (ERO), a group of accomplished Edo professionals residing in the United States, officially endorsed him for the prestigious role.
Comprising skilled individuals of Edo origin living in the diaspora, ERO is dedicated to fostering the progress of Edo State. Agbonayinma, widely recognized as E. J., stands out as a prominent contender among the aspirants vying for the 2024 Edo State gubernatorial position.
This endorsement from ERO comes as a recognition of Agbonayinma’s exceptional track record and unwavering commitment to service in both corporate and public sectors, both within the United States and various significant roles within Nigeria.
The Edo Renaissance Organization, in an official statement, highlighted the former legislator’s accomplishments as a prominent business figure in the United States, a Senior Advisor to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, a member of the Nigerian Railway Corporation’s board, and his representation of the Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. These roles, as per ERO, are indicative of Agbonayinma’s character, visionary outlook, and dedication to Nigeria’s progress, particularly in Edo State.

During the annual retreat held in Washington DC, United States of America, Professor Emeritus A. Osa Obasogie spoke on behalf of ERO, conveying the collective sentiment of the group. Professor Obasogie highlighted Agbonayinma’s pivotal role in establishing the US Congressional Nigerian Caucus, underscoring his dedication to bolstering collaboration between the United States and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
