What Does Nigeria Stand To Earn Qualifying for World cup


Ahead of the crucial world cup qualifiers with neighborhood and fellow west African country Ghana scheduled for today, it has been estimated Nigeria will receive €12.2m (N5.6bn) from FIFA if they qualify
for the Qatar 2022 World Cup later this year.

The World Cup in Qatar scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18, with 32 teams taking part in the competition vying for the most esteemed trophy in football.

Meanwhile, the build-up to the fixture has been a dauntless one which includes
talk of the long rivalry between the two nations, dating back to when they first met in the year 1951 of which Nigerian rode to a 5-0 victory over their neighbours.

Though the stats presented are actually in favor of Nigeria as they have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three outings in World Cup qualifiers against Ghana which includes winning one
and drawing two, although three out of the previous four has resulted in a goalless affair.

Ghana though still maintains a solid record and remain unbeaten in their last five games against Nigeria
in all competitions – winning three and drawing two.

There is just a single goal scored across the last three meeting.
