Wike Requests No Congratulatory Billboards or Advertorials in His Honor

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has urged well-wishers to refrain from erecting congratulatory billboards in his honor.

In a statement released on Sunday by Mr. Anthony Ogunleye, the Director of Press at the Office of the Minister, it was emphasized that while Minister Nyesom Wike is grateful for the warm wishes and support from citizens, he firmly requests the discontinuation of lamp post billboards, full-scale billboards, and other advertisements that celebrate his appointment as minister.

The statement noted, “The minister acknowledges the overwhelming goodwill from the residents of the FCT and beyond, understands the sentiment behind these congratulatory displays, and is genuinely touched by the show of support. However, in the spirit of public service and commitment to his responsibilities, the minister wishes to focus his full attention on assisting President Bola Tinubu in realizing his vision and renewed hope agenda for Nigeria.”

Ogunleye highlighted that Nyesom Wike’s primary duty lies in contributing to the development and growth of the FCT, as well as the well-being of residents and the nation as a whole. The minister regards the aspirations and expectations of the FCT residents highly and is dedicated to fulfilling his role with utmost sincerity and dedication.

The director emphasized that Nyesom Wike’s goal is to concentrate all efforts on the task at hand and collaborate with fellow public servants to serve the country to the best of their abilities. He expressed hope that the public would comprehend the minister’s perspective and continue to offer support and cooperation.

The statement concluded, “He looks forward to working hand in hand with all stakeholders to build a stronger, more prosperous, and united FCT and Nigeria.”
